File formats
In digital graphics there are different kinds of file
formats that we use for images. I will be talking about JPEG, GIF and PNG. I
will put up images of each format to so the difference in them and what size of
each file uses.
JPEG Image File size 547 KB |
JPEG- This is the most common formats that you will see over
the internet. JPEG will contain high colourful high resolution image data, JPEG
is a lossy format, which means it will lose its quality when the image is
compressed. If the image is compressed to much it become very blocky.
PNG Image File Size 1.06 MB |
PNG- This is a lossless image which means the image won’t
lose any quality when it is compressed. Unlike GIFS PNG does not support
animations.
GIF Image File Size 725 KB |
GIF-This again like PNG is a lossless image that means it
will not lose any quality when the image is compressed. GIF is mainly small
icons or animations that you might see on web sites but they don’t have that
same colour range that high-quality photos will have.
