Bitmap and Vector Graphics

Bitmap- Most images that you will see on the internet are bitmap graphics and bitmap is made up of lots of pixels or a bunch of dots. Common Bitmap file names are BMP, JPEG, GIF, PICT, PCX, and TIFF. Because bitmap is basically made up of pixels so the more you zoom in on a bitmap image the blockier it will become.

 

Vector- Vector is different from the other files such as JPEG or PNG because it isn’t made up of a grid of pixels. Since Vector isn’t made up of a specific number of dots it will not be blocky when you enlarge the image making it look clean around the image.
